About the event
On the occasion of the United Nations Human Rights Council session, the Heritage International Institute collaborated with the Permanent Missions of Italy and Cyprus, with co-sponsorship by Iraq, Mexico and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The event addressed accessibility and participation of persons with intellectual disabilities in cultural heritage.
During the initiative, HII announced the creation of an international working group tasked with drafting the first international guidelines on cultural accessibility for persons with intellectual disabilities. A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between CNR and HII.
