These Terms and Conditions govern access to and use of the Heritage International Institute website and its publicly available pages, including pages concerning departments, academic board members, projects, events, calls, publications, partners and contact information.
2. Institutional and informational purpose
The website provides institutional information about Heritage International Institute and its activities in cultural heritage, research, education, interdisciplinary cooperation, project development and public-interest initiatives. Unless expressly stated otherwise, website content is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute a binding offer, professional advice, legal advice or a guarantee of participation in any activity.
3. Projects, calls, events and applications
Information about projects, calls for papers, calls for applications, events, partnerships, research initiatives or public activities may be updated, postponed, corrected, suspended or cancelled. Eligibility criteria, deadlines, selection processes and participation conditions may be governed by specific notices or documents published for each initiative. In case of conflict, the specific notice or call prevails over these general Terms.
4. Materials submitted by email or other channels
Users may contact the Institute or submit materials such as research proposals, papers, abstracts, CVs, biographies, portfolios, photographs, audiovisual materials, project applications, letters, institutional profiles or collaboration proposals. Sending materials does not create an obligation for Heritage International Institute to respond, evaluate, accept, publish, fund, return or preserve the submitted materials, unless a specific written agreement or call provides otherwise.
5. Rights in submitted materials
By submitting materials, the sender confirms that they have the rights, permissions and authority required to share them with Heritage International Institute and that the materials do not unlawfully infringe third-party intellectual property, privacy, image, confidentiality, cultural heritage, contractual or other rights. The sender retains ownership of their materials, but authorises the Institute to review, store, internally share, assess and use them as necessary for correspondence, evaluation, project development, selection processes, research cooperation, institutional documentation and related administrative purposes.
6. Publication and use of selected materials
Any publication, public dissemination, substantial reuse or formal inclusion of submitted materials in projects, events, publications, websites or communication activities should be based on an appropriate permission, agreement, licence, consent or applicable legal basis. The Institute may request additional confirmations, releases or documentation before publishing personal profiles, photographs, biographies, research outputs or third-party materials.
7. Permitted use of the website
Users must use the website lawfully and respectfully. Users must not interfere with website operation, security or integrity, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, conduct abusive scraping, misrepresent affiliations, submit unlawful or harmful content, or use the website in a way that infringes the rights or legitimate interests of Heritage International Institute or third parties.
8. Intellectual property of website content
All website materials, including the name, logo, visual identity, layout, texts, images, videos, graphics, project descriptions and institutional content, are owned by Heritage International Institute or by their respective rights holders. Heritage International Institute aims to keep website information accurate and available, but does not guarantee that all content is complete, continuously available, updated or error-free. The Institute may modify, suspend or remove website content or functionality at any time.
