About the event
On 1 and 2 July 2025, Heritage International Institute hosted a high-level international conference at Palazzo WeGil in Rome dedicated to combating illicit trafficking of cultural property.
The event was held under the patronage of the Carabinieri Corps and addressed cultural heritage protection through diplomacy, law, technologies and security cooperation.
The conference explored the role of international law and human rights, digital technologies, investigative practice and post-conflict heritage protection, paving the way for new collaborations including with the Ministry of Culture of Syria.
