HII carried out a mission to Iraq covering Baghdad and Dhi Qar, including Ur, Eridu and the Marshlands of Umm al-Binni.

About the event
From 8 to 13 June 2025, a team from the Heritage International Institute carried out a mission to Iraq covering Baghdad and the province of Dhi Qar.
The visit included inspections of the archaeological sites of Ur, Eridu and the Marshlands of Umm al-Binni, as well as meetings with institutional and academic partners.
As part of the mission, the international conference “Preserving Iraq’s Heritage through Digital Innovation” was organised in partnership with the Al Alamain Institute for Higher Education and the Bahr al Uloom Foundation.
