About the event
From 23 to 30 August 2025, the Heritage International Institute conducted a mission in Libya focused on the digital preservation of Leptis Magna, one of the most iconic archaeological sites of the Roman Empire.
The mission centred on the digitization of the Arch of Trajan using advanced 3D scanning and photogrammetry technologies.
The effort forms part of the broader Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage initiative and reflects HII’s commitment to combining technology, diplomacy and international cooperation in fragile and post-conflict settings.
