The Italian Embassy in Tripoli promoted and organised the first mission to Libya by HII Chief Executive Officer Sergio Iovino.
The mission initiated dialogue with local authorities, particularly with the Director of the Department of Antiquities of the Libyan Government.
A significant digitization initiative was agreed upon, targeting UNESCO sites in Cyrene, Leptis Magna, Sabratha, Ghadames and Tadrart Acacus.
