About the event
Promoted and funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and organised by the University of Rome La Sapienza in collaboration with McGill University, the symposium brought together leading experts on cultural heritage.
The event was attended by high-level figures including Fatou Bensouda, Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court; Hon. Benedetto Della Vedova, Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs; representatives connected to the Italian Ministry of Culture; and Elissa Ann Golberg, Canadian Ambassador to Rome.
The symposium also marked the inauguration of the Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage, an initiative created to raise awareness of the need to reconnect with history and shared cultural roots in order to address complex present-day challenges.
