About the event
With the support of the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo, the Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage arrived at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.
The inauguration was preceded by a special performance under the artistic direction of Sergio Iovino, combining tarantella and tahtib, the Egyptian dance recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.
The exhibition introduced a digital journey to Benevento alongside virtual tours of historic buildings, monuments and museums in Venice, Florence, Rome and Castel del Monte. It was inaugurated before more than 400 people and remained at the NMEC for two weeks.
